Home Sweet Home

We’re back from Oregon! And what a fun trip is was. It was a time of firsts for me: first legitimate road trip, first camping experience, first time boogie boarding, and first visit to the Mecca of dairy (a.k.a. The Tillamook Cheese Factory).

And look what we found!

Of course, sporting the plaid to get into the camping spirit. Oh, and don’t forget the secret ingredient to all camp food:

Well, the Oregon coast was great, but can it really compete with the Puget Sound? Check out what greeted when I got back – it’s good to be home.

Modern Vintage Bangles

I’m the kind of girl who finds one accessory piece and wears it every day. For example, I have a pair of pearl studs that never fail to go out the door with me. But I’ve been thinking about a great everyday bracelet that will go with everything for summer. This Lulu Frost bracelet has been bookmarked in my browser for months. If only I didn’t know $315 could be spent more wisely…

These are nice alternatives:

Any bracelet suggestions for me? What do you wear every day?

Tory Burch has the leopard print down

Recently, leopard print has been catching my eye more than it normally does (see here, where I accidentally wear too many leopard prints at one time). And in general I don’t care much for brand names, but I’ve found the common denominator for successful leopard prints is Tory Burch. Feel free to admire these accessories:

Also, happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone!

Happy May Day, Prints!

This season must be the time to experiment with fun denim! We’ve seen all types of colors already (such as my favorite mint tint), so why not add a print, too?

Printed denim jeans are a fun way to incorporate more prints into your outfit. They take a little more confidence than your average jean, but fear not!

And what’s more perfect for May Day than a little floral action?

Homemade Pizza!

Homemade pizza is the perfect Friday night meal. But last Friday I didn’t want just any old pizza. So why not barbecue chicken avocado pizza?

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough (I used a bulk mix combined with yeast and water)
  • 1 chicken breast
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cup corn
  • Grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Directions:

Spread barbecue sauce over pizza dough. Sprinkle with shredded chicken, corn and cheese. Bake for 20 minutes at 450 degrees. Spread avocado pieces on top after cooling. Enjoy!

Beyond the Closet

I’ll be honest, I’ve never cared much for clothes hangers. Of course, I recognize their functionality and I do use them, but I’ve never given them much thought.

Well, as it turns out, clothes hangers have more than one use! Not only can you keep wrinkles from your clothes, you can also keep your sunglasses in one place (you know we all lose them) and even use hangers in home decor:

And just for fun, here’s Paris!
