“Ombre” popped into our vocabularies last summer when celebrities started applying it to their hair dye, but have you ever wondered what the literal definition is? Or is that just us English majors.
“Ombre: having colors or tones that shade into each other — used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark.”
Now it looks like ombre is showing up everywhere: dresses and tights and cake, oh my!
We even want to eat ombre:
